Instrumentation students at Bellingham Technical College constructed this automated turbocompressor system as a learning tool for PLC control, start-up and shut-down sequencing. The PLC is a Koyo model DL05, with inputs coming from operator controls, oil pressure and level switches, and a Bently-Nevada model 3300 machine health monitor.

The blogcast shows how to enable a default task to help keep the SMS DB clean and also how to install and configure the SMS 2003 Client Health Monitor Tool. The default settings in SMS don’t allow you to set the number of days before a client becomes inactive. That’s your job to decide based on the organization and how long a system is off the network.
